It just goes to show - coffee can be ethically sourced and also totally delicious.
While you sip a cup of Mr Cappuccino coffee you can be reassured that in a small way you are supporting independent farmers and smallholder's whose work begins the journey from bean to cup. Coffee is the second most valuable commodity after crude oil and is grown in more than 50 countries in a band around the equator. Millions of people worldwide are dependant on the coffee trade not just for a living but sometimes for survival. The journey from farmer to coffee cup is a long and tortuous one with a succession of middlemen taking their cut along the way. The Fairtrade Foundation works to ensure that at the beginning of this journey independent producers receive a fair price for their crops and a chance of a sustainable future. This work is changing lives.
Mr Cappuccino is allowed to use the Fairtrade mark because the coffee and sugar we sell can be traced back to ethical sources approved by the Fairtrade Foundation.
